Technically not a fairy but in Greek mythology, satyrs are male nature spirits with ears and a tail resembling those of a horse, as well as a permanent, exaggerated erection. Early artistic representations sometimes include horse-like legs, but, by the sixth century BC, they were more often represented with human legs. Reference: Wikipedia

Elves are a type of humanoid supernatural being in Germanic mythology and folklore. They appear especially in North Germanic mythology, being mentioned in the Icelandic Poetic Edda and Snorri Sturluson’s Prose Edda. Reference: Wikipedia. The circa 1890 Country Store merchandising cabinet, colorful lithographed tin insert with woodland fairy in the center and 10 cent graphics, various vignettes in the four corners demonstrate uses that include making inks, dyeing eggs, coloring yarns and rag rugs, etc, displayed in a molded picture frame hinged door on the front customer side, sliding door back on the merchant side, no interior shelves.
